| Integrated Disease Management  in Mango Integrated  disease management in mango awareness demonstrations were initiated during the  year 2009–10 at Nuggikeri, Nigadi, Kalakeri, Nayakana Hulikatti, Kyarakoppa,  Jodalli and Narendra villages of Dharwad taluk and  Kalaghatagi taluk with a beneficiaries of 10  farmers through mango campaigns. One contact and one systemic fungicide were  used at the time of flowering and at the time of button formation stage for the  control of powdery mildew disease.  Trainings :Prior  to the implementation of both on campus and off campus training programmes were  organized to create awareness on the application of fungicides in the  management of powdery mildew in order to reduce the flower drops and to  increase fruit setting. In fungicide spray orchards have recorded 10-15% higher  yield. For eg, a progressive farmer Sri. Manjunath Y. Gouri, Nayakana Hulikatti  village of Hubli taluk obtained the record yield of 3.8 Mt./ha. The farmers  expressed the spray of fungicides at the time of flowering and button formation  stage will increase the fruit yield by reducing flower drop.
 Campaigns:Before implementation of the  integrated disease management practices there were two mango campaigns have  been conducted at farmers fields with an involvement of more than 100 farmers  to create awareness about management practices. These farmers were able to  harvest more than expected yield in their respective mango gardens on an  average yield of  3.0 Mt./ha over farmer  practice were they could able to get 2.5 Mt./ha.
